Committee weekend - Food, Beer and Wind
The annual committee weekend was held this year at Eyebrook Fishery. What a venue!
3 days on a very picturesque and well managed fishery with the not so prettycrew of Chiltern FDG.
Day one saw most catch a few fish and different techniques being tried delivering fish at a range of depths and any fly that passed them. The best day in terms of weather with a flat calm and light breeze.
Day two saw the arrival of wind, initially from the beer but later from the strong sw that developed. Fishing was good with plenty of fish being taken on the washing line and small buzzers.
Day three saw many members get down to the business of bagging up with many double figure catches and some approaching 30. Again the washing line on small buzzers and big orange daddy proving to be the key to unlock the fish in strong winds and waves.
A very enjoyable trip with great fishing and some interesting fashion statements being displayed by members from a bright red tartan to a bass bag shirt.

A Grand Day Out
Ravensthorpe being the venue, the first club outing of the year started with sunshine and light wind developing into a stiff and cold strong wind, and that wasn't as a result of the curry from the night before.
With a few fish caught by all the day proved tough, with green buzzer proving its worth. We were please that no accidents are reported in the attachment of blob.
A Grand day out was wrapped up with a presentation to Martin who leaves us in search of big toothy monsters in the fens. Good luck Martin!

They say that size doesn't matter...
Well in this weeks workshop, size did matter, well it did if you couldn't see down to a size 20.....
Led by Richard we tied Avon Special Emergers (reversed), USD Mayfly spinner and reverese parachutes. Many club members found the reverse parachute challenge enough but the concept of tying fly's away from the eye proved to be the biggest challenge...
